Even though summer is winding down, that doesn’t mean that the fun is over just yet.

There are still places to go and things to see, not to mention beer to drink.

Whether you’re on the East Coast, West Coast, or anywhere else, you can still go on a road trip for beer on cheap holidays.

Here are three places in the United States that, whether it’s their quality of beer or just because it’s a cool city, you should stop by while the weather is still warm.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin

I mean, the city’s professional baseball team is called the Brewers, so you know that they take their beer seriously. Besides being the home for MillerCoors, Milwaukee also has some of the best microbrews in the Midwest. You’ve got Lakefront Brewery, Sprecher Brewery, and Milwaukee Brewing Co, just to name a few. So tailgate like a local and cheer on the Brew Crew, it is summer after all.

Tampa Bay Area, Florida

Tampa isn’t the first place that pops into mind when it comes to beer, but it’s become one of the most interesting beer cities in the country. With around 30 local breweries in the area, including the multi-award-winning Cigar City Brewing – and 4.5 million people to service, the market is far from saturated, leaving room for experimentation. That experimentation eventually led to the creation of the Florida Weisse, a light, refreshing variation of its German counterpart. Today, the Florida Weisse has become ubiquitous within Tampa, with many of the local breweries offering their own take on this refreshing beer.

Minneapolis, Minnesota

With the winter weather ranging from barely tolerable to “I never want to go outside”, Minneapolans have plenty of time to perfect their beer-making craft. With breweries that are as eccentric as the residents, the sheer diversity of the beer can be overwhelming. That’s why the people here really take to heart their unofficial motto, “Good beer is a fresh beer, drink local.” So pull a seat and order that IPA you’ve never heard of from local breweries such as Fulton Brewery or the offbeat Surly Brewing Company. Chances are you’ll like it.

If you want to explore outside of the USA, you can head to Europe. Belgium is renowned for its beer-producing prowess, or you can take a trip to Tenerife or other parts of Spain and sample the Spanish beers, or to Greece and chill with a beer among the crowds enjoying the lively nightlife. Whichever destination you head to, there’s plenty to drink.
