Are you a Beer Tourist? Show it with a T-shirt

Submitted by on June 21, 2012 – 9:00 am11 Comments

Congratulations to Sean Nordquist and Kerrie M., whose comments were chosen randomly to win a “Beer Tourist” T-shirt in this giveaway. Thanks t0 everyone who commented. Remember, you can still purchase one of the shirts at www.beerbunny.com.

Every so often, I get an unsolicited product in the mail for review. Usually it’s a book, a beer or some kind of gadget

But a few weeks ago, I received a T-shirt, and I have to say that I love it.

Brad Phalin sent me the “Beer Tourist” shirt, which he sells via his www.beerbunny.com website.

“I’ve been passionate about beer since I was 5 years old,” Phalin said. “I remember opening the fridge one day, looking up and seeing a few clear bottles of yellow liquid. It was backlit by the fridge light and it was beautiful and I was just in awe of it. Then I started collecting beer cans around age 10. When I discovered that you could catch a buzz from the stuff in my teens, well … .”

Phalin lives in Marblehead Ohio, near the shores of Lake Erie. His day job for the past 13 years has been as a staff photographer for Bowling Green State University’s marketing department.

He got the idea of creating and marketing the “Beer Tourist” shirt during visits to 75 or so breweries during the past three years.

“I consulted with numerous outfits in multiple states in order to find a shirt that not only conveys a message promoting beer but one that is durable and of superior comfort,” Phalin said.  “They are produced in small quantities and I personally ship each one myself.”

I can attest to the comfort.

Road Trips for Beer editor Gerard Walen models the "Beer Tourist" shirt on a recent visit to Orlando.

The T-shirt fabric is light and soft, and it seems quite durable. It’s ideal for wearing on road trips or plane flights, and the logo is clean and simple.

Because of the focus of Road Trips for Beer, Phalin reached out to us and agreed to let us give away a pair of the shirts.
