Craft Beer Convention Set for San Diego
Lots of beer geeks also lay claim to being regular geeks, and crossovers with such nerd-a-licious events as the annual Comic-Con are not uncommon. But for those whose geekdom extends only to the enjoyment and sharing of finely crafted brews, your time has come.
The inaugural Beer-Con will be a one-day celebration of all things craft beer, and it takes place August 27, 2011, on the home turf of Comic-Con – San Diego, California.
Though organizers are still putting the finishing touches on the agenda, attendees can expect presentations from such folks as Greg Koch and Dr. Bill Sysak of Stone Brewing Co.; Anat Baron, creator of the film documentary “Beer Wars”; and Patrick Rue from The Bruery. Sessions will include “Homebrewing 101,” “Beer and Food,” and “Beer & Social Media.”
Here’s what the organizers have to say:
Beer-Con was born out of the pure love for craft beer. This is a conference by and for beer lovers! For the first time ever the greatest minds and palates in craft beer have a platform to come together and share their passion!
