Black Star Beer Can Takes a Road Trip to Florida
Road Trips for Beer can work both ways. Usually, we go to the beer. But sometimes, the beer comes to us.
Our friends at Great Northern Brewery Co. in Whitefish, Montana, were kind enough to send a sample of their Black Star beer, a double hopped golden lager, in the new 24 ounce can. The larger can is distributed throughout Montana, Washington, Oregon, California and Nevada.
But unfortunately Black Star beer is not yet sold in Florida, where the Road Trips for Beer World Headquarters is located. Florida seems perfect for canned craft beer, with its miles of beaches, thousands of parks and who knows how many resorts and hotels with swimming pools,. Many of these venues allow alcohol possession and consumption, but forbid glass bottles. And a 24 ounce can just makes it that much better.
Since the refreshing and tasty lager arrived via UPS Ground, it sort of took a road trip to us.
So, without further ado, here’s a look what a Montana beer does when it takes a road trip to Florida.
(Oddly enough, the Black Star beer can wrote its own photo captions).
DAY ONE

I really wanted to ride "It's a Small World," but the Magic Kindom doesn't allow alcohol. Fortunately, Downtown Disney doesn't share that rule ...

DAY THREE

Les Bons Temps Rouler! A whole mess of crawdads at the Cajun Cafe on the Bayou Crawfish Festival in Pinellas Park.

I even made some new friends at the Crawfish Festival. Some of them look a little scary - OK, just the big guy with the beard - but they were all real nice.

DAY FIVE

NO! I get an honored spot in the Beer Can Collection, right next to one of my little brothers. I love Florida!

A nod to “Flat Stanley”, we now have “Cylindrical Stanley”! Fun article!
How about we just call it Beer Can Stan, to avoid copyright issues? Thanks, Rick. It was fun to write.
