Photo contest offers a golden key to Colorado Beer Week events
Did you ever ask your parents, “How come there’s a Father’s Day and a Mother’s Day, but there isn’t a Children’s Day?”
The answer inevitably was, “Every day is Children’s Day.”
I never quite understood that answer, but I figure that there’s never been a Colorado Beer Week because “every week is Colorado Beer Week” in the craft brewery-rich Centennial State. Until this year.
Colorado Beer Week will be April 8 to April 16, 2011, and organizers promise “seven days of taste bud exhilaration and gastronomic exploration. Throughout the state, artisanal craft beers will be paired with locally grown foods and locally prepared menus crafted by Colorado’s best chefs.”
And if you have a photo that shouts “Colorado beer,” you can win a pass that will let you into nearly every event during the seven days.
Here’s what they have to say about it:
With less than a month until the inaugural Colorado Beer Week (April 8-16, 2011) kicks off, event tickets are selling quickly. Fortunately for one lucky beer fan, he or she will soon be able to punch their ticket to Colorado Beer Week (CBW) for free after winning a Beer Connoisseur’s Pass on Facebook.
The CBW Beer Connoisseur’s Pass has a value of $160 and is good for admission into every CBW event throughout the week (aside from a tee time at the Birdies and Beers Charity Golf Tournament at The Club at Pradera).
Beginning on Monday, March 14, contestants can enter to win the Beer Connoisseur’s Pass by posting their favorite and most creative Colorado beer inspired picture on the CBW Facebook wall before 11:59 p.m. on March 28th (www.facebook.com/ColoradoBeerWeek). Contestants then need to have as many of their friends and other CBW fans vote for their picture by first “Liking” the CBW page and then “Liking” their individual picture. The three most “Liked” images and two CBW staff-picked images will be entered into a drawing to win a Connoisseur’s Pass. Additionally, the four other finalists will all receive an individual pass to one CBW event.
“There are only 50 Beer Connoisseur Passes for sale to the general public,” says CBW Founder, Scott Kerkmans, “so we’re hoping to see some pretty original images by March 28th.”
Single Event tickets range from $14 to $200 and in addition to the Beer Connoisseur’s Pass, a VIP Pass (good for admission into every CBW event, including the golf tournament) is available for $350. Both passes and all single event tickets are for sale at www.cobeerweek.com.
