Brew pub in Central Florida will open in January, Shipyard Brewing confirms
Portland, Maine’s Shipyard Brewing has announced an opening date of January 28, 2011, for its new Central Florida brewpub in Winter Park, according to Scott Joseph’s Orlando Restaurant Guide. A spokeswoman for Shipyard confirmed the date and said more details will be available after January 1.
According to an earlier news release from Shipyard, the maker of such craft beers as Old Thumper English Bitter and Shipyard IPA produce very small batches of “seasonal and unique beers.” Orlando brewer Ron Raike, who’s worked with Shipyard for more than 13 years, will direct the beer operations.
Orlando chef Joslyn L. Tusa will oversee The Shipyard Brewery & Emporium, which will feature beer and food pairing classes, among other events.
It is being built at 200 W. Fairbanks Ave., in a spot previous occupied by Italian restaurant Strollo’s Cucina Due.
